What does it mean to be a true mumbaikar?

A true Mumbaikar means someone who never lets life put them down and who keeps forging ahead. Examples of this attitude are how people went to their jobs the next day despite bomb blasts. Also, a chilled out character with modern thoughts and views on society will pass as a Mumbaikar...Lastly what defines a Bombayite is having unsurpassable passion for cricket and Bollywood.

  1. Agree!! Mumbai gives u the India experience, though roted to local culture we celebrate everything like everyone and we all attend most events and have friends/colleagues from diff cultures.
Which other city can boast of being the financial and entertainment capital

  2. The Question is Worth Million Dollar. The Reference of the City coming back on tracks after series of Blasts dated from March 1993 till date is highlighted as spirit of Mumbaikar or the then Bombayite, but it's the unsaid story of the agony, pain he/she carries silently with a smile on the face.
The media notices only the smile and make a hoo-hallah about the spirit of MUMBAI, but never tries to bring out the long awaited problems. It is more interested to focus on people from a particular region targeted, but it will turn it's eye on the same ones who tend to do Anti Social activities.
According to me a TRUE MUMBAIKAR is the one who might be travelling in a Luxurious Cars or Sedan, but will never forget his past struggle and shows respect towards the Pedestrians of whom he once belonged to.
He is the one who might be dining in the 7 Star hotel, but will enjoy the MUMBAI BURGER (Vada Pav) whenever an opportunity comes up.
He will find pleasure in Travelling by Aamchi Local rather than trekking his way by road.

ALL OF THE ABOVE WHO IS GROUNDED TO HIS ROOTS & CILTURE, BUT STILL REGARDS MUMBAI AS A PART OF HIS SOUL.
