A New beginning

Hello Beautiful people

This is Vandana Suri. A true Mumbaikar at heart who is currently studying in San Diego State University in San Diego, California. I started a new blog called Art of Living. I basically want to talk about life, dreams, passion, philosophy, art etc etc etc. and whatever else you find relevant in terms of sharing and discussing.

Happy new year to you all and let us begin the dialogue!!! ;)

  1. Vandana and Anurag, you both make interesting points. However this concept is not purely philosophical but also physiological. Human emotions result in chemical reactions in our body some of which directly affect our brain. When you are happy, the chemical reactions in your body triggers off endorphins, that elevates your mood. A good laugh will always have this effect on us. Anyone remembers the umpteen laughing clubs around Bombay, where seniors would gather in a circle and laugh hysterically. I guess any laugh is a good laugh.

Lack of Endorphins would keep our adrenaline low which translates to lower morale or spirit.

Your wants and dreams are relative to your ability and ambition and must start with introspection. Identifying what you want out of life and aligning them with your means and ability is the key. Because, in the end, happiness is all about exceeding expectations, for both, yours and of those around you.

With that being said, if you can continue to be happy and keep yourself motivated, you have a better chance of getting promoted, or graduating at the top of your class or maybe own that Mercedes (This is the one I want).

  2. Hi

I absolutely agree with you. In fact its been proven scientifically that happy people attract health, wealth and happiness into their lives. Also, they have better chances of being promoted and finding rich and fulfilling relationships.

And as per what you said that laughing releases endorphins, I believe people need to get into the mode of being happy in the present moment. I know from my experience that you can manifest the reality that you truly want. Its not about being happy only, but taking the next step and imagining greater things being manifested in your life and in reality. That is how scholars such as Einstein or leaders such as Gandhi and Nelson Mandela succeeded.

  3. By the way, can anybody define what a true Mumbaikar (at heart) means?
